PAP TGEI 2024/2025 – When technology meets ingenuity… and good humor!
Last day July 16, the Montemor-o-Velho School Group It was the stage for a true festival of ideas, ingenuity and technology, with the realization of Professional Aptitude Tests (PAP) of the final year students of the Professional Course in Computer Equipment Management Technician (TGEI).
Although we didn't have suits or ties—thankfully, given the summer heat—the students presented themselves with great composure and professionalism, ready to defend months (or even years!) of work. And if there were any nerves on edge, they were quickly overcome by confident presentations, functional projects, and, in many cases, a gleam in the eyes of those who know they gave their best.
Projects that almost left us speechless (but with lots of praise)
O Smart Recycling Point It was, without a doubt, one of the day's highlights. Using a camera and an artificial intelligence system, this project is able to identify waste and automatically direct it to the correct compartment. A real help for those who still confuse yellow with blue (yes, it happens!). Technology at the service of the environment — and our ecological conscience.
Next, the House Sentinel It impressed with its usefulness and sophistication. A monitoring system that detects power outages, sudden changes in temperature or humidity, and sends alerts via Telegram. A kind of digital watchdog — only quieter and much more geeky.
Finally, the God's Bio Hands It brought a touch of science fiction to the presentation room. This bionic hand system, which replicates the user's movements through special gloves, proved to be a true feat of engineering and control. A bold, visually impressive, and technically demanding project. If machines ever revolt, let them at least be well programmed!
Among boats, secretaries, and traffic lights – there was everything!
Creativity was at its peak. We had the Fly Wave, an elegant remote-controlled boat that sailed straight to jury approval; the Smart Desk, A desk with a hidden computer and retractable monitor — ideal for those who want a minimalist desk with a touch of ingenuity.
O Zap Racer He brought speed and fun with his remote-controlled car, while the CycloVoice and the VoiceBot They opted for voice control: the first so cyclists could signal changes of direction with smart lights, and the second to control a robot with oral commands (and without shouting, it should be said!).
Already Night LEDs It showed how small ideas can have a big impact: a soft lighting system to prevent nighttime trips—because, let's be honest, we've all stubbed our little toe on the corner of the bed. And of course, there was room for pure and simple utility with the... Automatic Gel Dispenser and the Traffic Light System, which, although more discreet, clearly demonstrated the technical expertise of their creators.
More than a race, a moment of celebration.
The PAPs were more than just an assessment: they were a real rite of passage. Each student gave their best and demonstrated the skills developed throughout the three years of the course. The presentations took place in an atmosphere of seriousness, but also of good cheer — because when the work is well done, there is always room for a smile.
The images from these moments reveal not only the projects and equipment, but also the expressions of concentration, overcoming challenges… and relief after the victory! Take a look at these records that immortalize such an important day.
Congratulations to all the students of the TGEI course — not only for successfully completing this stage, but for doing so with creativity, dedication, and a sense of responsibility. If the future is technological, we can rest assured: it's in good hands!
