Celebration of International Mathematics Day and Pi Day
Last March 14th, International Mathematics Day and Pi Day were celebrated at the Dr. José dos Santos Bessa 2,3 school in Carapinheira.
To mark this day, an exhibition was held in the multipurpose room with works created by the students, and the 6th and 8th grade classes participated in calculating approximations for the number Pi, measuring the perimeter and diameter of a circle, an activity carried out on the school's sports field.

In the exhibition, you can see the symbol for the number Pi (3 dimensions) and some interesting facts about it.
In this activity, the students verified that the number Pi (π) represents the ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter, measuring by step.

To remind students of the joy that mathematics can bring to their lives, the cafeteria staff made rice pudding and decorated it with the Pi symbol.

The students showed considerable commitment and interest in these activities.
Also within the scope of the activities proposed in the Subject Area, the Kangaroo Math Competition took place on Thursday, March 20th, with the participation of 19 students in the School category and 12 students in the Benjamin category. The students showed themselves to be committed and enthusiastic during the competition.
