Poetry Trail at the Castle

Within the framework of the poetry learning sequence, Contemporary Poets, taught in the Portuguese subject and in partnership with the School Library and the Physical Education subject (given that it is a professional sports class), a school activity was developed, extended to the community in Montemor-o-Velho, on March 25, 2025, with Trail- Poetry in the Castle  https://pt.wikiloc.com/trilhas-trekking/trilho-poesia-no-castelo-207904115 .

The aim was to create a cross-disciplinary approach between sports, the students' area of specialization, and the Portuguese language, highlighting culture throughout the activity. Therefore, a trail was created from the Montemor Secondary School, passing through some points of interest in the town, and poems by Portuguese authors were displayed in the Castle. This trail was created in... Wikiloc, The entire route, including points of interest and the poetry exhibition at the Castle, will be available online in the app, for anyone to follow. By following our trail, each person will have access to the location of each point of interest with a summary of its history and photographs, as well as the poetry exhibition at the Castle. In this way, in addition to the curricular objective, we have given the town of Montemor a projection to the world. 

Therefore, on March 25th, we left the school, visited the points of interest, displayed poems on the trees, and the students recited poems in our language at the Castle. After the students' literary performance, we returned to the school and concluded our Trail – Poetry in the Castle.
