
Athletics – Beginners – Regional Champions Sara Carnim
On May 9th, the Vagos Athletics Track hosted the Regional Track and Field Championships of the School Sports Regional Directorate of Education of the Central Region. Thirteen students from our school group were selected to represent Coimbra in an event that included approximately two hundred participants from schools belonging to the districts of Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Viseu, Aveiro, Leiria, and Guarda. The commitment and determination of our students, from the schools of Carapinheira, Arazede, and Pereira, were once again put into action. Our participation included eight students from the junior team, two junior students, one youth student, and two referees.
The junior students, in a competition where the overall ranking was very close among the various schools represented, were crowned champions. REGIONAL CHAMPIONS.
Here are the new Regional Champions: Afonso Ângelo D.8B, Afonso Nelson D.8C, Bernardo Monteiro D.8A, Frederico Cascão D.8A, Gonçalo Pagaimo E.9A, Henrique Bicho D.7A, Leonardo Cojocaru D.9A and Sandro Reis D.8A.
Also noteworthy are the results achieved by students Henrique Bicho, Afonso Nelson, Afonso Ângelo, and Gonçalo Pagaimo, who were awarded... Regional Champions In the 4x80 meter relay, student Henrique Bicho, after finishing seventh in the hurdles, was crowned... Regional Runner-Up in the High Jump event.
In the girls' youth category, the student Ana Souto, D.9A, In addition to finishing 4th in the high jump and 5th in the long jump, he was part of the Coimbra Selection's 4x100m relay team, achieving the title of VICE–REGIONAL CHAMPION.
In the beginners' classes, the student Luciana Gomes E.7B, representing the Coimbra Selection, in addition to finishing in seventh place in the hurdles event, also became VICE–REGIONAL CHAMPION in the 4x80m relay.
The student Sara Carnim, C.8A, was consecrated REGIONAL CHAMPION in the High Jump event.
A reference for female students. Leonor Cojocaru (D.8A) and Diana Carapeto (A.11D) who, in these championships, completed level 3 of the National Referee Training Plan.
