9th Grade... and now what?
Colloquium “"9th Grade... and now what?" - Career Fair
On April 29th, the colloquium “9th Grade… and now?” took place at the Pereira Basic and Integrated School. This initiative was organized by the Citizenship and Development subject, in conjunction with the Psychology and Guidance Service (SPO), and also involved the collaboration of the Class Councils and the Group's Management.
Aimed at 9th-grade students, this meeting's main objective was to inform, clarify, guide, and support young people in making decisions regarding their future academic and professional paths. The choice of speakers took into account the interests expressed by the students, promoting greater proximity to their doubts and expectations.
The colloquium featured the participation of several guests, namely Dr. Carla Santos (Informatics), Dr. Pedro Saraiva (Sports), educator Vitória Leite (Pre-School Education), Ms. Ana Cordeiro (Aesthetics), and Dr. Rita Sansão Coelho, representative of the Professional and Rural Development School of Baixo Mondego. They all shared their experiences and presented different training opportunities and career paths.
Throughout the session, students had the opportunity to directly engage with different professional fields through the testimonies of the respective speakers. More than just a meeting, this colloquium proved to be a moment of sharing, clarification, and inspiration, contributing to students feeling more confident in their choices.
This initiative once again provided an enriching moment for vocational guidance, reinforcing the school's role in supporting the development of its students' life projects. It is an activity that has been held several times over the years and is widely recognized and appreciated by the educational community.
The organization expresses special thanks to several parents/guardians who collaborated both as speakers and in providing logistical support for the activity, as well as to the operational assistants, whose involvement and availability were fundamental to the success of the event.
