Autism Awareness
Autism Awareness Month
During the month of April, as part of raising awareness about autism, the Special Education group at Arazede Primary School organized a series of sessions aimed at all classes, from the 1st to the 9th grade. These initiatives were carefully adapted to the different age levels, ensuring an accessible, clear and meaningful approach for all students.
Throughout the sessions, essential aspects related to understanding autism were addressed, promoting values such as respect for difference, empathy, and inclusion. Each presentation also included a discussion period, which proved fundamental for clarifying doubts, sharing ideas, and encouraging the active participation of students.
To consolidate learning and engage each participant, all students were given a bookmark in which they wrote a sentence about the most important message they took away from the session. This initiative not only reinforced the content covered but also gathered genuine testimonials about the activity's impact on the school community.
With this action, the Special Education group reinforces its commitment to building a more inclusive, informed, and sensitive school to diversity.
