Poetry Day

The Afonso Duarte Municipal Library resumed its Poetry Recital on March 21st, and our school group was once again present, represented by 5th, 6th, and 9th grade students from the Montemor Basic and Secondary Schools and Dr. José dos Santos Bessa (Carapinheira). Properly guided by their Music, Portuguese, and Physical Education teachers, the students performed poems by Camões using dance, song, music, and recitation. The props were provided by the families, who are always so important to us. The audience enjoyed both the presentations by our students and those of the senior audience who also participated in the recital. The participants received a beautiful wooden sculpture, donated by the Montemor-o-Velho City Council and presented by the Afonso Duarte Municipal Library team, who welcomed us so warmly. The School Libraries of the Group would like to thank everyone who agreed to participate in this activity.
