Art Installation at EB2.3 Dr. José dos Santos Bessa School, Our Lady of Sorrows Garden in the center of the village of Carapinheira

The works on display “"Let's create a Scarecrow,", These activities were carried out in conjunction with the Carapinheira Primary School, Carapinheira Kindergarten, and the Maria Leonor Anjos Children's Home. Diniz and ATL, Diocesan Caritas.

Its objectives were:

To recover and revitalize a tradition of great significance in the rural world, which has lost expression due to the forced lifestyle of modern society;

To promote artistic expression, creativity, and stimulate the creative spirit in the field of various forms of visual art;

To encourage actions for environmental education and citizenship;

To develop an ecological awareness by encouraging the reuse of materials.   

Also part of the exhibition are several creative tapestry works using bicycle and gymnastic hoops, in which a web was woven, and rag yarn or wool was used to construct a decorative piece.

Also on display at the Carapinheira Mutual Agricultural Credit Union branch are works created by students commemorating the 500th anniversary of Camões' birth.
