Child Abuse Prevention Month
Following Pope Francis' motto with the phrase "“ "Tomorrow belongs to the children we protect today."” The Carapinheira After-School Activities Center (CATL), marking Child Abuse Awareness Month, invited the entire school community to participate in an activity entitled "Fly Higher".

In this sense, all the classes at the Carapinheira EB 2,3 school, the Special Education department, the staff, the teachers, and the after-school program gave free rein to their imagination and decorated butterflies, highlighting the transformation that society needs to make so that our children and young people can fly higher in a healthy and happy way.

This topic is very important to us, and in order to reach a wider audience, we requested permission from the parish council president to place the butterflies in a roundabout. This request was accepted with great enthusiasm. The butterflies were placed in the Semeador roundabout on March 31st at 10:30 am, with the presence of the school coordinator, Professor Pedro Pires, the Vice President of the Montemor-o-Velho City Council, José Veríssimo, the Councillor, Diana Andrade, the President of the Carapinheira Parish Council, Vítor Monteiro, the representative of Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra, Ana Paula Cordeiro, and the CATL monitors. We were filled with joy and very grateful for the participation and involvement of our school and the entire surrounding community.
Here's one brief summary of the activity.
Thank you all!
