Transfiguration of Experience
Within the scope of the 11th Grade Curricular Autonomy Domains (DACs), and in relation to the Theme “Artistic creation and the work of art”, taught in the 11th grade Philosophy subject, I proposed to move forward with the implementation of an activity entitled “Transfiguration of Experience”"which, with the active collaboration of several teachers from all the class councils of the 11th grade classes, was able to be accomplished.".
Among such collaboration, I would like to highlight, without diminishing the others, the proactive contribution of Professor Margarida Mateus, who provided several pertinent suggestions throughout the activity. In addition to her, and because a substantial number of teachers enabled the execution of said activity in their respective classes (making classes available so that our beloved “Leonardos Da Vincis” and “Pablos Picassos” could reach their goal), I would like to express my gratitude to them, and also to the School Board, in the persons of the Director and Deputy Director, who previously and duly authorized and legitimized the proposal's viability.“
The activity in question, as documented in the set of photos attached to this article, consisted of the creation of a representative canvas for each 11th grade class (Classes A, B, C, D1 and D2, E and F from regular and vocational education), constructed freely and/or with guidance by the students themselves, based on the theme indicated above.
The class paintings, already on display in the atrium leading to block A (upper floor) of the main school building for the school community to appreciate, demonstrate the receptiveness, interest, and commitment of the students involved, but above all, their broad creativity and attention to detail, proving that what Pessoa once wrote is indeed true: "When man dreams, the work is born!"“
And what great work you've done, boys! Congratulations!
An activity I'll definitely repeat in the future!
Thank you to you all as well.
Prof. Fernanda Gil
