Session on Climate Change and Health

Last Wednesday, May 27th, between 11:35 AM and 1:25 PM, the students of 11th grade D participated in a session dedicated to the theme "Climate Change and Health," as part of the Geography A subject. The activity was led by Professor Dr. Marta Vasconcelos Pinto, from the Scientific-Pedagogical Unit of Environmental Health at the Coimbra School of Technology, and took place in the school library.

The initiative's main objective was to raise awareness within the school community about the impacts of climate change on human and environmental health, promoting scientific literacy, critical thinking, and the adoption of sustainable behaviors.

The session also included a period of debate, allowing students to reflect on and discuss issues related to current environmental challenges.

Given the importance and relevance of the topics covered, this initiative could be repeated in the next academic year, either at the school or through a study visit to the Coimbra School of Technology, following the availability shown by the teacher.
