
District Track Championship
Thirteen students from the school group qualified for the Regional Championship.
On March 17th, in Febres, the District Track and Field Championship for School Sports took place. Twelve schools with athletics teams in their educational projects participated, enthusiastically competing for the district titles in sprints, hurdles, endurance races and relays, high jump, long jump, and shot put.
Our school group participated in the competition with twenty-eight members, including athletes and referees. The students Simão Monteiro, Henrique Bicho, Weverton Silva, Miriam Duarte, Gabriela Faria, Diana Carapeto and Pedro Laranjeiro They were our referees.
At the end of this great journey, we achieved fifteen podium finishes, four of which were district titles. We highlight the new district champions:
Sandro Reis e Diana Carapeto – in the Shot Put; Sara Carnim e Aline Rama – in the High Jump; Rodrigo Fernandes, Afonso Nelson, Afonso Ângelo and Frederico Cascão – in the 4x80 m relay.
Collectively, we submitted two teams to the competition. The students initiated they were District Runners-Up while the initiates they were consecrated District Champions. The winning team consisted of the following students: Afonso Ângelo, Afonso Nelson, Bernardo Monteiro, Florêncio Manjate, Frederico Cascão, Gustavo Lopes, José Azevedo, Miguel Carvalho, Nelson Gonçalves, Rodrigo Fernandes and Sandro Reis.
With the victory in the boys' junior category, our school group will represent Coimbra in the Central Region Athletics Championships, which will take place in Vagos on April 24th. It should also be noted that, individually, the female students... Aline Rama, Leonor Cojocaru, Luciana Gomes e Sara Carnim They have also qualified to represent the Coimbra Selection in the same championships.
