Operation Hot Buns
A “"Operation Hot Bread Rolls – from grain to bread"” She left Mortágua with an award.
The 5th grade class A from the Arazede Basic School 2/3, part of the Montemor-o-Velho School Group, participated in the Intermunicipal Expo held in Mortágua on the 21st, returning with reasons to celebrate: they won 3rd place in the “Arts and Crafts” category and also received an honorable mention for “Stand + Social”.
Within the scope of the program Imagine.Create.Succeed – The Future is Yours!, The class was challenged to present, in the "Arts and Crafts" category, an art or craft representative of the municipality. Thus, the project was born. “"Operation Hot Bread Rolls – from grain to bread"”.
The project focused on discovering and valuing the tradition of artisanal bread making, a practice that remains very much alive in the region. With the support of the Faíscas Social, Recreational and Cultural Center, the students had the opportunity to directly experience this ancient art: kneading, letting the bread rise, and baking it in a wood-fired oven.
After "getting their hands dirty," the students took this very special tradition to Mortágua, presenting the project with great enthusiasm.
The class demonstrated tremendous team spirit, dedication, and a sense of responsibility, and everyone deserves congratulations for their excellent performance.
Now, new preparations are underway for the next adventure, as the prize won is a visit to SEA LIFE Porto.
