Little Market of Flavors
“"Mercadinho dos Sabores: a journey through the world of flavors and cultures!"
On October 16th, to mark World Food Day, the Kindergarten at the Montemor-o-Velho Educational Center was filled with color, joy, and tradition with the "Flavors Market," an activity dedicated to multiculturalism.
With the invaluable involvement of families and the entire educational team, five themed stalls were prepared, representing Portugal, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and Mozambique. Each stall was carefully decorated with flags, traditional costumes, typical foods, and various cultural elements, providing children with a true journey around the world through the flavors, colors, and traditions of each country.
It was a very special morning, marked by sharing, discovery, and good cheer! Amidst new experiences and curiosities, the children had the opportunity to learn about different cultures, valuing diversity and learning that, despite our differences, there is much that unites us.
The educational team, both teaching and non-teaching staff, of the Montemor-o-Velho Educational Center would like to express their special thanks to all the families for their collaboration, dedication, creativity, and generosity, which were essential in making this market so rich and meaningful.
Together, we transformed flavors into discoveries and differences into learning opportunities!”
The educators,
Dília Fernandes, Sofia Pardal, Luísa Pires, Carla Porto
